I will be delivering the final lecture of the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland's (AHSS) Autumn & Winter Events Programme on 2nd April.
'Alice Custance Baker, the Building Materials Analyst at the Scottish Lime Centre Trust, will tell us about her experience studying Stone Conservation in Rome (partially funded by the AHSS), bringing in Scottish case studies. Topics that will be covered include the influence of biological growth on stone deterioration, the complex nature of salts and their removal, and the question of whether stone consolidants and water repellents are right for Scottish buildings.'
