Sponsorship Update- Grant Received from the Clothworkers' Foundation

I am pleased to announce that I have received a grant from the Clothworkers' Foundation towards my attendance at the ICCROM 17th International Course on Stone Conservation as part of their 'Conservation CPD Bursary Scheme'. This grant scheme was designed to 'help qualified conservators attend conferences, courses, seminars and events directly relevant to their discipline in support of their CPD' and supports projects 'which further an individual’s knowledge and expertise in their particular discipline'.

Sponsorship Update- Scottish Stone Liaison Group

The Board of the Scottish Stone Liaison Group (SSLG) has unanimously agreed to provide generous support towards my attendance at the ICCROM 17th International Course on Stone Conservation. SSLG was set up 'to enhance availability, promote utilisation and advance knowledge and skills in design, specification and use of indigenous Scottish stone in existing and new build projects.' Their support shows a great vote of confidence for the Scottish Lime Centre Trust and for the importance of such training opportunities and the chance to promote the Scottish Stone Industry.

Councillor William Walker Visits the Scottish Lime Centre Trust

Fife Councillor and Scottish National Party Candidate William G. Walker has visited the Scottish Lime Centre Trust to show his support for our organisation on both cultural and economic development grounds. We are very grateful for the support he has already given us which led to us receiving funding from Fife Council towards attendance on this course.

The Forth and Borders Group of the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland have provided a generous donation towards the cost of this course. On my return from Rome I will be presenting a lecture for their members and members of the public during their Autumn 2011 - Spring 2012 Lecture Series held in the Glasite Meeting House, Edinburgh. Details will be posted closer to the time.
